According to a study conducted by a suburban Detroit RDA Group market research firm, the quality of Nissan Motors Co., Inc., is equal to the Ford Motor Co. and Toyota Motors Corp., Ford and Toyota have already etched a trusted reputation of the global automotive industry for several decades.
The study conducted the Ford revealed that Honda Motor Co. turned out to be the best overall results. Still "Ita is a big improvement on us," said Ford global quality Vice President Bennie Fowler. In this study, RDA asked 31,000 new vehicle owners to write down all the problems they are faced with the first 90 days of ownership of their 2007-model cars and trucks from all major auto.
Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brand cars were 1456 problems per 1000 vehicles compared with 1457 for 1453 Toyota and Nissan, said the RDA. Honda was named the best new-car quality, the 1313 'things gone wrong per 1,000 vehicles, RDA noted. Ford quality improved 8 percent, compared the total industry growth in a two-interest.
Ford Fusion beat the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord with 1066 problems per 1000 vehicles midsize car segment. On the other hand, the Mercury Milan scored 910 and it has the lowest rate of any Ford product RDA revealed.
Nissan turn signal is flashing positive vibes. Recently, Japanese automakers have been busy testing new strategies and come up with great innovations. Currently, Nissan is testing pedestrian detection system that is designed to alert the driver if one intends to enter the road.
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is equipped with a mobile phone technology and GPS (global positioning satellites) to send data to the car in the pedestrian's location. Nissan is currently focused on exploring what kind of information is very useful to prevent road traffic accidents, including a pedestrian while driving in the direction of the vehicle, and the velocities and distances. It is also studying whether visual or audible warnings alert. The most appropriate warning is provided integrate the car.
Nissan has also announced its partnership with NEC Corporation for the latest generation of lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are considered more efficient and more environmentally friendly than some of the current energy sources. They will be used to provide a new series of electric cars and hybrids.
Japanese automaker also plans to introduce the production of fuel cell cars and electric vehicles early next decade. Nissan also intimated its plan to gasoline and diesel engines increasingly cleaner. These vehicles are intended to appear until 2012. Â "It is very difficult, very, very high level, Â "said the Nissan driver technology Mitsuhiko Yamashita. Â" We ultimately have to meet this, but 2012 is too aggressive.
